摘要：

Factors influencing miscibility in binary Al-solute systems such as thermodynamic activity, excess stability functions, size factor, electronegativity, electronic configuration and position of solutes in the periodic table are discussed. The concept of Kumar's miscibility syndrome and experimental results showing that clusters of like/unlike atoms exist in colloidal dispersion among monoatomic atoms in the liquid state are also discussed.
