Use of Alternative Fuels for Firing Cement Rotary Kilns.

The energy situation has forced the cement industry to consider alternative energy sources. As the cement rotary kilns offer the advantage that the clinker harmlessly absorbs the major proportion of ash and undesirable harmful materials, a possibility presents itself to dispose of various waste materials by burning without creating environmental problems. Low value fuels are introduced into the lowest cyclone stage; high value materials are also blown in through the main burner. Alternative fuels often present an economic and environmental possibility to reduce the consumption of high value fuels.
