In the Kramatorsk Industrial Institute energy-saving technology has been developed resulting in new highly efficient vibration equipment, the VK-79 'Alpha-1' vibration unit, designed for the vibration-stabilizing machining of welded and cast parts in order to remove or reduce residual stresses caused by welding, casting and machining processes. The vibration unit can also be used as additional equipment for speeding up various technological processes and research work. The introduction of the new technology and the VK-79 vibration unit has made it possible to reduce the consumption of electric power by 500 times and make the industrial ageing cycle 60 times shorter than using the thermal method in electric reheating furnaces; to increase productivity and the quality of the parts produced; to reduce the cost price of parts; and to halve transport costs.
