A hardware realization of a nonrecursive digital filter is described. The coefficients of the pulse response are loaded by a microprocessor. For signal filtering the microprocessor is required only to provide new data, to initiate the computation of the filter output, and to transfer the output data. During computation of the output data, the microprocessor can carry out other tasks in parallel. The maximum sampling frequency is up to 50 kHz depending on the filter degree.
