摘要：
Research work into signature recognition was carried out at the National Physical Laboratory during the 1970s. Within pattern recognition, signature recognition is probably one of the simpler problems to solve. The objective of a signature recognising machine would be to identify a person from the signature. Signature encoding and application of the technique in ammunition transactions control are outlined.
