Low carbon, nitrogen controlled Type 316 Nuclear Grade stainless steel is being procured for boiling water reactor recirculation piping systems. Engineering requirements have been established to provide maximum resistance to intergranular stress corrosion cracking in BWR aqueous environments. Product forms involved include plate, pipe, fittings, and forgings. Special processing controls are required.
