The effect of initiating systems based on di-2-ethylhexyloxycarbonyl peroxide on the duration of suspension polymerization of vinyl chloride is studied. The feasibility is demonstrated of accelerating the synthesis by using appropriate nitrogen-containing reducing agents and a water-soluble coinitiator. A mechanism is proposed for acceleration of polymerization in the presence of the initiating system di-2-ethylhexyloxycarbonyl peroxide-potassium persulfate. © 1997 MAHK Hayka/Interperiodica Publishing.
