xDSL: The solution for today's bandwidth demands?

摘要：
Digital subscriber line (xDSL) is an emerging technology that provides an alternative solution to the existing ISDN line between the subscriber and the local access switch. It typically provides: more bandwidth from the switch to the subscriber than vice versa; and the capability to route data calls on the access side of the switch to a packet network before they enter the public telephone network. The future of xDSL technologies and potential market opportunities is also presented.
