摘要
For the first time in Europe on this class of vehicle, Ford will be offering an optional Multimedia System developed by Visteon. The system comprises of two, independently operating, high resolution TFT LCD displays mounted into the front headrests. At the heart of the system is an 8-bit audio/-video processor module-the brain of the system. Screens are controlled via a small control panel located in the centre console or by infra red remote control. The system comes complete with VHS is compatible with all the major games consoles. As the screens are independent, one person can play a game and the other watch a video. The screens are super high quality with a 130 degree viewing angle and high brightness for sunlight conditions. The screens have been fully homologated to meet European legislation and automotive requirements for head impact. A VHS player is supplied as standard and is mounted in the rear of the vehicle in a storage area out of view. Audio is provided over headphones and there are systems available for both the PAL and SECAM markets. Current draw is very low so no need for larger alternator. Visteon can apply their technology to any vehicle.
