摘要
This study describes embedding experiments to lower the potential harm due to waste solution of osmic acid, a fixative used for biological specimens in electron microscopy. The embedding procedure is divided into two stages in order to make the embedding more stable. The first stage is embedding by alkoxide-gel, and the second stage is sintering with low-melting point glass. The results indicated that caustic gelation is effective as an embedment method in the first stage and sintering with low-melting point glass is an effective procedure in the second stage. © 1986 Oxford University Press.
