Separation characteristics of vibrated fluidized bed

The fluidization characteristics and separation performance of vibrated fluidized bed (VFB) were researched. The forces acting on mineral particle in VFB were analysed, and the main parameters affecting the separation of mineral according to bed density were also studied. Finally, the separation mechanism of VFB was revealed. The result shows that the bed density of VFB is uniform and stable with a weak back mixing of medium solids under the condition of suitable technological and operating parameters; the maximum relative error of bed densities is 0.32%; the VFB has a good separation effect and can separate the fine coal of 6 - 1 mm with a probable error (Ep value) of 0.08 and a quantitative efficiency of 91.66%, Hence, it provides a new dry separation technology for fine coal.
