Approaching the study of fabricated steel disc brake rotors

摘要
This novel program involved testing steel replicas of cast iron brake rotors until an equivalent- performance carbon steel grade was found, revising the prototypes with design changes, testing with standard industry test procedures until performance advantages could be observed and, finally, determining the newly optimized steel rotor. The goal is to arrive at a design in steel with better performance and less cost than the existing cast- iron disk brake rotor units.
