Measurement of two-phase flowrate by using frequency analysis method

A frequency analysis method is presented in this paper for measuring the flowrate of oil-water two-phase liquid mixtures. Perturbation signal at the output of a water-cut transducer placed in a well contains information about fluid density and fluid velocity. Data processing is made to the high frequency component of the perturbation signal to acquire fluid velocity, thus, making the water-cut transducer able to measure the fluid flowrate. The feasibility of this method is proved by the indoor simulation experiments. And the experiment data of flowrate from model wells is analyzed.
