Effective medium theory in elastic properties of isotropic composite materials

摘要：
In this paper a new developed effective medium theory for properties of composite materials was introduced. It was extended for the description of the elastic properties of isotropic binary composites. The formulation was used to study the shear modulus of a composite with the dispersion of spheres, specializing to the limiting cases of rigid and soft inclusion. Exact formulas for two cases were obtained and compared with known experimental results.
