Magnetite is most often the main component of a disperse phase (including an impurity phase) in different liquids. The author studies the magnetic susceptibility of individual, highly disperse particles of magnetite, magnetite in bulk, and disperse magnetite, and the quantitative relations between these susceptibilities (such relations would make it possible to characterize a broad range of different composite materials and their individual particles).
