摘要：
Sustained application of new technologies in the library in the 20th century is considered and the library ability to include the latest technology in its operations is highlighted. It is discussed the capability of Internet and their tools to support the library functions: selection, organization, storing and access to the information required by users. Digital library is considered the model that are adopting libraries and it represents a rebirth of library science.
