Results of an investigation are given on the basis of empirical data on the budgets of kinetic, potential, and internal energy, and also the energy of phase transitions on the basis of the water-vapor budget of various parts and in various stages of evolution of middle-latitude cyclones. Quantitative estimates of the energy capacity of mechanisms forming the budgets are given.
