State of the art of using computer graphics for open-pit planning and management

摘要
The article looks at the use of computer graphics in managing mine plans. It describes an automated cartography package with the additional capability of solving some mining problems like blasting vibration assessment, measuring weighted distance, visibility, etc. A graphical representation of the level of blasting vibration is given, the input being the weight of the explosive charge. Other parameters are retrieved from the information stored in the data base. The package is being further modified to manage information through the cartographic data base with easy-to-use query language. An example of creating a window through query is presented.
