摘要
This study represents the research and summary of data collected to data regarding the presence of organics in the off-gas of coal dryers. The majority of these volatile compounds are aliphatic hydrocarbons. However, homologs of benzene have been detected in all experiments. The amount of benzene in this gas varies with the bed temperature and the residence time in the dryer. The loss of these organic compounds also is represented by a loss in BTU value of about 4%. Also, there is some evidence that the more volatile of the organic compounds are emitted from the coal during prolonged storage.
