摘要：
The author describes the method adopted to determine the seismic level to be allowed for on a given site. He goes on to summarise the general rules applied to protect nuclear power stations against earthquakes and traces the pattern of studies carried out to determine the stresses to which plants can be subjected. Finally, he examines the consequences which allowing for earthquakes have on the design of engineering work and equipment.
