摘要
For fatigue strength determinations, 6 mm- thick sheets of ″AlZn5Mg1″ , ″AlZn3Mg2″ , the Polish alloy ″Pa-47″ and AlMg3 were TIG- and MIG-welded with different filler rods. The results have shown that the use of a filter of the same type promises no advantage with respect to fatigue strength compared with the use of AlMg5. Further, since this reduces the tendency to hot shortness and the corrosion susceptibility, its use can often be recommended. TIG welds have a better fatigue strength than MIG welds. The fatigue strength of welded joints in AlMg3 can be so greatly improved by using AlMg4. 5Mn as filler that values close to those of the age-hardenable AlZnMg alloys can be obtained.
