The purpose of this work was the study of phase equilibria in the ternary Y-Fe-Mo system at 870 K. As a result an isothermal cross-section of the phase diagram of the Y-Fe-Mo system at 870 K was plotted. The interaction of components in the Y-Fe-Mo system was found to be determined by the structure of the binary phase diagram. The phase diagram of the Y-Fe-Mo system at 870 K is characterized by a very low solubility of the third component in all binary compounds of yttrium with iron and molybdenum with iron. The greatest (4 at. %) region of ternary solid solution formed is based on the Laves phase YFe//2.
