摘要
A study on the surface tension of tissues in order to diagnose malignant tumors using nematics was presented. The nature of various orientations of nematic liquid crystals (NLC) molecules was elucidated as a function of the pathology of the tissue. It was found that the malignant layers always look black whereas benign tumors and normal tissues always looked white or colored.
