Method of finite differences for calculation of three-dimensional nonsteady flows of a gas past blunt bodies and a detailed investigation of the method are presented. Plane, axisymmetric, and three-dimensional steady flows of a perfect gas and an ideal gas are analyzed with consideration of physicochemical transformations. The flow analyses are made with special processing algorithms on the basis of systematically calculated data for various cases of flow past a sphere, paraboloids, ellipsoids, hyberboloids, blunt cones, and other bodies. Values of the gasdynamic functions for flows past various blunt bodies have high accuracy and are tabulated in a form convenient for use.
