DuPont is going for a major restructuring program featuring job cuts, product line consolidation and new sourcing strategies. $900 million is targeted in annualized cost savings by 2005. The company will also focus on emerging markets such as China, Eastern Europe and Brazil to help drive targeted revenue growth of 6% per year. The shares of DuPont have been raised from $2.26 to $43.58 as the investors are encouraged by the restructuring announcements.
