摘要
Directional solidification in lost-wax castings is usually controlled by the gating and feeding system. A method has been developed which increases the cooling rate in thicker parts of the casting by using chalk as a backing material outside the shell mold. Chalk can also be used as an additive in the slurry, as a partial substitute for quartz fines.
