The geological structure, reservoir properties and petroleum occurrence in the Devonian and Carboniferous sedimentary rocks of the DDD is considered. Variations of porosity and permeability of sandstone rocks of different age depending on the depth of their occurrence are analyzed. Based on a comparison with similar deposits situated at the depth of less than 4000 m and on the available data about the porosity and permeability of the rocks situated below them, the conclusion is drawn that the presence of good reservoirs at greater depths is possible. This is a favorable premise for finding oil and gas deposits there.
