INJECTION MOULDING OF LARGE SURFACE AREA PARTS IN POLYESTER BULK MOULDING COMPOUNDS.

As in thermoplastic injection moulding, process automation and mould quality is gaining increasing significance in the processing of thermosetting polyester moulding compounds. Considerable progress has been achieved in development with the application of BMC components for series production in the car industry. Although the same strength values cannot yet be achieved with injection moulding as with compression moulding thermoset injection moulding has good prospects on account of its good automation potential in combination with further increases in the mechanical properties of the finished parts.
