After a period of stagnation, cellulose ester moulding compounds are cerating renewed interest since they are classed as modified natural materials. Work has recently been started on the subject of modification, whether through grafting or polymer modification, the latter already having achieved technical importance. The present-day typical applications for cellulose ester moulding materials are outlined. For figures see German text.
