摘要
New low-alloyed and modified steel has been developed in place of 40RL steel to be used for fabrication of drive wheels of crawler tractors. The choice of alloying elements was dictated by their availability. Combination of elements provides for improved strength of steel retaining rather high plasticity to avoid components failure during operation. To remove harmful impurities and to globularize non-metallic inclusions a complex modifier has been developed. Impact strength of new steel is a factor of 1.4 higher than that of 40RL. Hardenability of wheel tooth made of new steel is 2 times higher that of 40RL tooth.
