摘要
In cases where the electrode reaction is complicated by the formation of the poorly soluble products the current drop which is seen when a certain value of potential has been reached can be due, not only to the diffusion processes but also to blocking or passivation of the electrode by reaction products. The results of kinetic studies of the electrochemical reduction of chromate ions in chromic acid solutions, which can give rise to the formation of poorly soluble compounds on the electrode are examined.
