摘要
The conditions for the appearance of impact ionization in cathode static domains have been investigated. It is assumed that an avalanche-transit effect is possible in cathode static domains. The generation of microwave noise by Gunn diodes with a cathode static domain within the interval from 8. 8 to 9. 8 GHz and a noise power spectral density of 10**2kT//0 minus 8 multiplied by (times) 10**5kT//0 has been observed experimentally.
