摘要
The application of axial magnetic field to an argon ion laser changes the polarization of the radiation generated by the laser. This change gives rise to additional optical losses of the laser resonator due to increased reflection of laser radiation from Brewster windows and dispersive elements. The use of a magnetic field coil of special design eliminates these additional losses resulting in significant increase of laser output power, particularly in the case of single-mode operation.
