In high-temperature hot-blast stoves for heating the oxidizer in magnetohydrodynamic electric power stations to 1700 degree C the temperature of the combustion products under the dome is 1800 degree C. For lining the dome the use of corundum refractories is proposed. The refractories are 95 wt. % Al//2O//3, 2. 5 wt. % Si0//2, 0. 35 wt. % Fe//2O//3, open porosity 17-20%, apparent density 3. 12-3. 20 g/cm**3, and compressive strength of 41-45 MPa at 20 degree C and 6. 3-9. 3 MPa at 1400 degree C. The lower average temperatures of an air cooled lining caused better resistance under the action of a mechanical load.
