Non-symmetrical large deformation of a shallow thin spherical shell

摘要
The second-order approximate analytical solution on the deflection of a shallow spherical shell subjected to linear liquid loads was solved by using the modified iteration method, and the characteristic curves of the load-deflection on a perturbing point were given also. The method given here can also be used for analyzing the non-symmetrical large deformation of other kind of shells. As an illustrative example, the large-deflection deformation of a plane and of a shallow spherical shell with different initial deflections were also discussed by using this method.
