摘要
The object of this investigation is to evaluate the magnitude of increase in the oxidation rate and to elucidate the acceleration mechanism in the presence of water vapor. Fe-Cr alloys containing 5-30% Cr were oxidized in a stream of O//2 and O//2-10vol% H//2O at 1023 and 1173 K. Accelerated oxidation in wet atmospheres is caused by oxidant gas penetration through defects in the scale. 20% is not sufficient for oxidation resistance.
