Design criteria and performance objectives of the Data Acquisition System (DAS) for the Power Generation and Transmission Control (PGTC) system to be set up by Enel (Italian State Power Board) are outlined. The PGTC system has a multilevel structure which consists of the National Control Center (NCC), the Area Control Centers (ACC), and Remote Terminal Units (RTU). The integration with the Remote-Control Centers (RCC) is described.
