SYNTHESIS OF QUASIOPTIMAL HEATING RATE CONTROL FOR A MELT OF VARIABLE VOLUME IN AN ELECTRIC-ARC FURNACE.

An algorithm is constructed that provides suboptimal temperature control in devices containing metls of variable volume. The algorithm is constructed by the phase-space method. The switching surface of the control signal is approximated by a second-order surface. After determining the coefficients of the switching surface, these coefficients are expressed as a function of the weight of melt in the device. A study on a Minsk-22 digital computer has shown that the obtained algorithm ensures sufficient response speed and a satisfactory melt temperature control performance.
