摘要
Strain resistance and formability as a function of temperature and strain rate, which are relevant characteristics for the assessment of hot forming capacity, can be determined with the aid of several tests methods, including the hot torsion test. The underlying principles of the various methods as well as their efficiency are described. It is shown that the hot torsion test makes it possible to simultaneously determine the required factors with the least effort. The test procedure as well as a special test evaluation approach are described, and several measured data for various steels and alloys are presented.
