Process Controls for Injection Molding Machines.

If the first injection turns out well, it means that much has been done to ensure the exact adjustment, programming and supervision of the mold-filling process. The molds for plastic articles, built in a single piece, are becoming increasingly complicated today. The prerequisite for obtaining few machine rejections is based on the stringent tolerances for temperature and pressure. The author shows how electric control equipment can be used to substantially increase productivity and improve quality, especially in the production of articles which are difficult to make on conventional machines. The advantages of automation are discussed, and a plug-in modular system incorporating all basic components for automation of injection molding machinery is described.
