State-of-the-art of powder metallurgy in industrially developed countries of North America, Europe and Japan is characterized. Output of powders and products from them for 1986-1991 as well as structure of consumption of powder metallurgy products are presented. Main tendencies in development of powder metallurgy abroad till 2000 are considered.
