摘要：

Gold is used as a means of protecting electrical contacts from corrosion. Its major disadvantage is cost. This leads manufacturers in the electroplating industry to try to decrease the amount of gold required without impairing the corrosion resistance. Two methods of measuring the deposit density have been investigated. These are the Archimedes principle and a comparison of thickness using X-ray fluorescence and a surfometer.
