摘要
This report was undertaken to determine if the fault tree methodology could be used to predict the reliability of a fossil fuel power plant. As a test case, a fault tree model was developed and evaluated for an existing gas turbine type power plant. The overall plant reliability prediction for producing steam for 500 consecutive hours was found to be 0. 965. This value was considered reasonable by utility personnel. It was concluded that the fault tree technique was an applicable tool for reliability prediction of a gas turbine type power plant.
