摘要：
Industrial power system protective devices must be coordinated for selective operation. The only protective device that should operate is the device closest upstream from the fault. Protective devices further upstream should act only if the fault is on the line side of the protective device. Thus, power interruption will be limited to the smallest portion of the plant that is consistent with clearing the fault.
