摘要
A brief discussion about Fourier optics was presented. It was shown that how decomposition into, and subsequent superposition of plane waves could lead to the near-field (Fresnel) and far-field (Fraunhofer) formulas and eludicate the Fourier transforming properties of a lens. Several numerical examples demonstrating the usefulness of the formulas derived were also presented.
