The design theory of the Y-junction circulator is still incomplete because it is very difficult to solve the boundary value problem. The difficulty comes from the circulator structure. An equivalent circuit representation for the waveguide Y-junction is presented to solve the above problem. That is, solving the integral equations for the case in which the boundary is a flat plane and then applying to that solution the equivalent circuit transformation representing the effect of the curvature, the solution for the curved boundary can be obtained. To represent the inner region containing a ferrite rod and conductor posts, the radial transmission line representation is employed.
