In the reported experiments, the dielectric permeability epsilon prime and the loss factor epsilon double prime of a number of Donbass coals have been investigated as functions of the frequency in the range of 1. 8-4. 5 GHz. The absorption of energy of the relaxation type by coals of different ranks in the range of frequencies of 3. 5-4 GHz has been established.
