Experimental studies of the visual capacity of the childrens' art school students at auditoriums lighted by filament and fluorescent lamps were carried out. In the latter case this parameter was found to be much lower. Optimal conditions for the scientifically substantiated light environment were determined and recommendations on the arrangement of the instruction media provided.
