摘要
In this work the authors studied chlorination of methane by a melt of copper and zinc chlorides, which approximates to an ideal solution. Experimental evidence shows that chlorination of methane by copper(II) chloride in a melt with zinc chloride under bubbling conditions conforms to a kinetic equation of order 0. 2 with respect to methane and 1. 7 with respect to copper(II) chloride. The activation energy of the process is 108 kJ/mole. The character of the dependence of the reaction rate on the zinc chloride concentration confirms the views advanced earlier with regard to a mechanism including a stage of thermal dissociation of copper(II) chloride.
