摘要
A high-quality, competitive newsprint sheet demands an equally high-quality pulp. There is an acceptable level of groundwood pulp quality that meets today's economic requirements for a high-quality sheet at the lowest manufacturing cost. Modernization and improved control of the grinder room has been shown to be a feasible alternative to replacing an existing grinder room. The groundwood control package covered in this paper has been implemented in a hierarchically distributed computer control system. Economic incentives and results are presented from proven installations.
